In removal proceedings, an Immigration Judge will determine whether you are removable from the United States, and if you are, whether you qualify for any relief from removal. Relief from removal may include but is not limited to: asylum, withholding of removal, protection under the Convention against Torture, adjustment of status, Temporary Protected Status, cancellation of removal for permanent residents, cancellation of removal for non-permanent residents and/or voluntary departure.
According to TRAC statistics on representation in removal proceedings, about 90% of asylum seekers were represented by attorneys. TRAC also provides statistics on the denial rates for asylum cases by Judge, and denial rates overall for asylum cases (around 50%), and denial rates by country.
