Humanitarian Relief

The United States offers several forms of humanitarian relief to individuals, including the following:

Immigrant Categories (for permanent immigration status in the United States)

Asylum and Refugee Assistance

Relief under VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) for certain battered spouses and children of U.S. citizens.
 

Non-immigrant Categories (for temporary immigration status in the United States)

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ("DACA")

Temporary Protected Status (“TPS”)

Humanitarian Parole

T visas are available to victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons (T-1 visa), their spouses (T-2 visa), their children (T-3 visa), and their parents if victims are under twenty-one years of age (T-4 visa).
U visas are available to victims of certain crimes (U-1 visa), their spouses (U-2 visa), their children (U-3 visa), and their parents if victims are under twenty-one years of age (U-4 visa).
